I have often been thinking about adding another baby to our already crazy life. This long weekend couldn’t have been more perfect, so why not…. Back in reality, my 3 year old is screaming at the top of her lungs in her room and just woke up her brother. So scratch that…two kids is plenty! haha! In spite of our less than perfect moments I couldn’t feel like more of a blessed mama.
We only have a couple more weekends before daddy will start working again and so it is for this reason I’ve been trying to push my to-do list aside and take advantage of all our family moments. In all honesty we have less meltdowns and negative moments when we’re focused on the present.
Saturday morning Isabella and daddy went to the Y for the last swim lesson. I wasn’t even sure they should be having it considering Hurricane Hermine and the tropical storms that have passed through here, but in any event they did go and from what I gather it wasn’t all that great with the kids that did show. However, Isabella completed the course and earned herself a certificate to add to her honors. Gabriel and I enjoyed some 1-on-1 time cuddling on the couch and having our coffee together 😉 He currently loves pouring imaginary coffee for me and CHEERS’ing.
Sunday morning after a homemade pancake breakfast we colored and played with our new wooden toy sets. (If you’re looking for some fun toddler toys check out my post here.) Teaching Gabriel animals sounds has been so much fun and something Isabella can join in on as well. His favorite animal he can mimic is a cow.
I am trying to live more in the present and be more aware of the new things my kids are learning. They are so funny together and separately, although I don’t have a lot of opportunities to spend individual attention with each of them. We laughed a lot, we played a lot, we snuggled a lot this weekend and surprisingly even though I devoted my time to them, my house is clean at the end of this 3 day weekend. At first I wasn’t sure how this could be…I try so hard to keep up with them and with the household work on typical weekends, but find myself frustrated because I have a clinging, whining child on my leg. But then I realized that the difference from this weekend to those in the past is that they were getting everything they needed. They were so loved, nourished, and entertained. At the end of this three day weekend I couldn’t feel more blessed to be called their mama. And man do I feel like a BOSS for having my house in order at the same time!
I am so in love with my new Blessed Mama tee and BOSS mama trucker hat from Knocked Up Boutique! It couldn’t have fit my weekend more perfectly! Now I want to introduce you to the mama behind the shop! I’m such a
nosy curious person and love learning more about what drives small shop owners.
